adoptive teen of loving parents from Washington State, and deals with anger
issues since childhood. But injustice
fills him with anger. When high school football star Mike bullies Chris, T.J sets
out to form a team of misfit swimmers (All Night Merman) as a sign of revenge. With the help of a friendly school coach and a
homeless man who helps to coach them, the team that had been bullied actually
thrives. As they succeed in meeting letterman requirements to earn letter
jackets of their own, they upset some people. But
continue to fight for each other along the way building lifelong friendships
and losing a father.
This
realistic fiction novel of prejudice delivers a powerful message about social
issues and team success. Great book for ages 12 and older. Other books written
